Welcome to Blue Ridge Tails n’ Trails, and thanks for stopping by!

My name is Virginia, owner of Blue Ridge Tails n’ Trails. I am here to offer your furry companion fun and exciting adventures in our beautiful home of Asheville, NC!

I grew up with dachshunds all my life, and eventually came to parent my own for 14 wonderful years. Sadly, she passed away in 2025 after suffering from several years of IMHA and a herniated disc in her neck. I understand deeply the special needs, and personalities, that small dogs embody!

I also have a senior boy named Bentley, and he’s my adventure buddy! When he was younger, we ran all the time in Charleston, SC. Upon moving to Asheville, he became my hiking and trail running companion. Bentley also accompanied me and my husband on many camping trips and even one backpacking adventure. Finally, we have a new puppy named Zoey who is growing fast and will soon be out on the trails with us next spring!

While in college, when I couldn’t have my own dog, I often took care of my friends’ and family’s dogs while they were out of town. I also volunteered at a local animal shelter where I learned how to safely approach and leash dogs for their walks, what body language signs to look for to ensure safety of the dog, and other behavioral techniques. More recently, I have taken on new clients in Asheville walking dogs and even caring for the occasional cat!
